Beschreibung
This relatively short tour begins at the St. Johann Stud Farm. We ride eastward through the avenue, passing the stud farm's Fohlenhof. Here, our route turns right. At the next fork in the road, we keep left, passing the Rutschenfelsen on the left-hand side. Continuing through the forest, we eventually reach the road leading to Bad Urach. We follow the bike path along the road for a short distance, cross it, and continue southward. Riding gently downhill, we pass meadows and fields until we reach Upfingen.
In Upfingen, we turn left before the church, follow Kirchgasse, and at the crossroads beyond the last houses, we head southwest. Shortly afterward, we come to a farm, where we turn right. We cross the main road and follow the path running parallel to the road, heading southwest. Where our path meets a crossroad, we turn right and then immediately left. We continue straight, cross the main road again, and follow the bike path parallel to the road. This path leads us westward to Ohnastetten.
We ride straight through Ohnastetten and continue on the bike path at the western edge of the village, which eventually veers to the right. At the next fork, we keep left and then turn right shortly afterward. From here, it’s a slight downhill ride toward Stahlecker Hof. At Stahlecker Hof, we turn right. Opposite the inn’s parking lot, we turn right again and follow the path through the forest.
We continue straight northward. At a crossroads with a large, old ash tree, we keep left. Passing wooded hills, pastures, and fields, we continue straight until the path makes a left turn. After this turn, we take a sharp right, ride briefly through the forest, and after crossing the main road, we are almost back at our starting point, the St. Johann Stud Farm.

Wegbeschreibung
The starting point of our tour across the Vordere Alb is the old town of Bad Urach. We begin by cycling east along Pfählerstraße, turning left at its end, and then immediately right onto Elsachstraße. At the end of Elsachstraße, we turn left onto Geirenbadstraße and then right onto Ostendstraße. Continuing via Schützenstraße, we reach Grabenstetter Straße, which leads us to the Pfählhof campsite. From there, we turn left into the shady Mariental valley, which transitions into Kaltental.
At the end of the valley, the ascent begins with switchbacks leading to the plateau, which we reach at the edge of Hülben. Here, we turn right and head north. We can take a short break at Burrenhof or turn right just before it to continue toward Grabenstetten. Along this stretch, we ride parallel to the Heidengraben. A stop at the information points with display boards is well worth it. In Grabenstetten, you can visit the newly established Celtic Museum in the town center or take the first right and then immediately left.
Leaving Grabenstetten, we follow the road out of the village, turning first right and then left to ride along the main road. After a brief section through the forest, we make a sharp left turn and continue along a path that alternates between the forest edge and open fields. In Strohweiler, we turn right and head toward Böhringen, enjoying stunning views of the surrounding landscape. In Böhringen, we turn left onto Hölderlinstraße and leave the village behind. We follow bike paths that alternate between the left and right sides of the road until the path veers away from the road. At the next junction, we turn right and make our way toward Zainingen.
At the edge of Zainingen, we pass under the B28 and then turn right onto Ulmer Straße. In the village center, we pass the "Zaininger Hüle" pond and follow the signs through the village. After a short, steep climb on the outskirts, we descend slightly again. In the valley, we turn right onto a gravel path. After about a kilometer, we take a right turn heading north. Near the campsite on our left, we make a sharp left turn and follow the path alongside the Lauberg campsite. Behind the soccer field at the edge of Böhringen, we make another sharp left turn. Shortly before Hengen, we cross the road and immediately turn left. On our left, we enjoy a lovely view of Hengen, which we bypass to the north.
In the northwest of the village, we cycle a short distance on the main road before turning left onto a path. Soon, the path veers right and then left again. With beautiful views of the Alb landscape and mostly flat terrain, we head toward Wittlingen. At the edge of Wittlingen, we turn left, then right, and then left again. From here, we follow the road toward Seeburg, mostly coasting downhill. Just before Seeburg, we navigate a few tight bends. In Seeburg, we pass the church and turn right onto Gruorner Straße. We cross the main street and follow the path through the Ermstal valley.
From here, we leisurely follow the Erms River back to our starting point in Bad Urach. At the edge of Bad Urach, near the pump factory, we cross Sirchinger Straße and continue along its left side. Finally, we arrive behind Bad Urach train station, pass through the underpass, and turn left. On the right, we turn onto Bismarckstraße, which leads us back to the starting point of our tour, the old town of Bad Urach.
