The ferryman takes visitors 70 m into the mystical interior of the earth and explains the formation, history and geology of the Wimsen Cave and Swabian Alb, as well as the relatively recent history of the historic Wimsen estate. The small hamlet of Wimsen is idyllically situated in the romantic Aachtal valley between Hayingen and Zwiefalten and is an ideal hiker's paradise.
Please note that no animals are allowed in the cave!
The Wimsen Cave is closed for the winter from the beginning of November until the end of March.
Right next to the cave, the Friedrichshöhle restaurant spoils its guests with organic dishes. Hot meals are served from 11.30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 7.30 p.m. The menu also includes vegetarian dishes.
