The entrance area on the ground floor invites you to read newspapers and magazines, drink coffee and discover new books and media from the city library. You will also receive a library card here and can borrow and return media.
Daily newspapers and magazines: On the ground floor of the city library you will find 3 daily newspapers and 24 magazines.
For children: reading, discovering, playing and more..The children's area offers many possibilities with picture books, first books and books to be read aloud, fairy tales, stories and tales. There is also a range of games, audio books and music CDs, cassettes, DVDs and computer games.
For the curious: knowledge books for children, non-fiction books for school, learning aids for German, Maths, English and Natural sciences.
Time to read - novels: Immerse yourself in the world of stories: historical, crime, thriller, contemporary history, entertainment and classics, including novels in large print and English
Non-fiction for leisure and further education: Non-fiction books for school, work and further education, guides on the topics of health, sport and leisure, travel guides and language courses, regional, educational guides, biographies and more
Listening and seeing: Exciting, worth knowing and entertaining: readings and radio plays on CD (partly MP3), literary adaptations, dramas and comedies as well as non-fiction and documentary films on DVD
Book request: Would you like a medium that the city library does not yet have in stock? Tell us about your media needs. We will check whether we can meet your request and will notify you.
Interlibrary loans: Specialist literature that is not available in the library can be obtained via the German interlibrary loan system. The fee for interlibrary loan is 2 euros per book.
Internet and copiers: The city library offers you the opportunity to make copies (b/w and color) or to surf the Internet for a fee.
Coffee machine: Enjoy the open and friendly atmosphere of the Schlossmühle with a cup of coffee on the ground floor.
Special service: If you have forgotten your reading glasses, you are welcome to borrow one of our reading glasses.
