Wegbeschreibung
From the Spa Centre car park (P1) we cross the Ermsbrücke bridge to Immanuel-Kant-Straße, on which we turn left down the valley. Behind the specialist clinic Hohenurach 1. we reach the Eichhaldestraße, the main access road of the Bad Urach housing district of Breitenstein. We follow it uphill to the junction with the road "Am Felsenhau". It takes us further to the "Am Forst" road, which branches off to the left and which we follow to a forest path that leads to the right. There is a small children's playground to the right of the forest path.
After about 30 m on the forest path we reach a crossroads with benches. Circular hiking trail 1 separates from circular hiking trail 2 here. Circular hiking trail 2 leads uphill to the right into the forest. Circular hiking trail 1, on the other hand, runs along the Felsenhausträßle at the edge of the forest. When we reach the crossroads, we already have the only major incline in the route of circular hiking trail 1 behind us. Now the path runs almost flat to the Buchhalde above Dettingen. In the first part, the Felsenhausträßle, which is easy to walk on, offers us no view. It leads along the Felsenhau forest in the Buckleter's robe. Here the orchards reach up to the path. The view of the valley is now free and we enjoy the panorama.
The Bleiche Farm is located on the border of the Erms valley between Bad Urach and Dettingen. The business, which operates strictly according to Bioland criteria, belongs to the Bruderhausdiakonie, the Gustav Werner Foundation and Haus am Berg. In the farm shop you can get a rich assortment of vegetables and fruit, potatoes, meat, etc. and there are also various animals such as sheep, goats, cows and even llamas. The gallows hill stretches over the farm and the industrial estate. To the left of the Galgenberg you can see the Runde Berg (711 m), the Hohenurach fortress ruins (692 m) and in beginning of it the Bad Urach spa area.
We continue towards the mountain nose of the Buckleter Kapf. When we have reached this, we have a completely new view: in front of us lies the town of Dettingen/Erms in the middle of meadows and orchards. 200 m away, benches invite you to linger and enjoy the view. To the left of Dettingen we see the Sonnenfels (777 m) at the end of the Galgenberg. On the border between meadows and forest, rises the conical Calverbühl (509 m), a basalt volcanic embryo. in the distance, the mighty Sommerberg with the Hörnle (706 m) rises up behind the village. To the right of the path we find the "Garden of Tranquility", opposite the "Garden of Eden". The gardens, about two hectares in size, were laid out between 1971 and 1975 as places of stillness, rest and reflection. Both gardens belong to the horticultural business of the EBK, the Evangelical Brotherhood Kecharismai e.V., which are also known in the region as the "flower monks". Kecharismai means in German: "God is a God who is always present."
Now the descent into the valley begins for us. We use the Herdternweg, which leads slightly steeply downhill opposite the “Garden of Silence”, a well-developed road. This is how we get to the paper mill site, where we turn left into Kolzentalweg.
The Kolzentalweg, a well-paved road, takes us through the meadow orchards back to the Bad Urach Kurpark and to the P1 car park and our starting point.
Ausrüstung
This path runs on paved/graveled paths and is easy to walk on in any weather.
Sicherheitshinweise
Our circular tours are not walking, but hiking trails. Sturdy shoes, hiking poles and sure-footedness are recommended for all tours, particularly after and during rainfall and in the winter months, the limestone rock and soil can be very slippery, especially on slopes. We also point out the presence of natural forest hazards. We ask you to exercise caution.
In an emergency, always dial the number 112. If necessary, please mention that the people involved in the accident are in inaccessible terrain, so that the Bad Urach mountain rescue service is also informed and there is no unnecessary loss of time during the rescue.
On the hiking signposts of our trails, you will find a plaque with the exact location number on it. The location number consists of the letters BU and a max. 4-digit number. Communicating this number to the control centre in an emergency, helps to provide assistance faster.
Please note the current safety instructions.
