Farmhouse Museum Ödenwaldstetten
Bauernhausmuseum Ödenwaldstetten,
Jahnweg 1-3, 72531 Hohenstein
The district of Ödenwaldstetten has gained nationwide recognition with the Bauernhausmuseum (Farm house museum), which has existed since 1978. The main building, built around 1600, is fully furnished from the cellar to the attic.
One of the two houses, built around 1600, is fully furnished from the cellar to the attic, making it suitable for a farming family to live in. The second house, built in 1859, showcases old rural crafts, traditional costumes, various antique toys, and agricultural machinery. Attached to the museum is a historic farmhouse garden, where long-forgotten crops, medicinal and culinary herbs are cultivated.
Dedicated citizens welcome visitors and offer an engaging guided tour through the museum, bringing a piece of village history to life.
Group tours outside of regular opening hours can be arranged in advance through the municipal administration.
