Hiking
Hiking around Bad Urach means discovering dramatic cliff faces, waterfalls, castle ruins, caves, lush forests and meandering rivers. The Maisental valley is one of the most popular areas with our hikers, as it is the starting point to discover the Urach Waterfall, the Güterstein Waterfall and (following a steep hike) the stunning views from the Hohenurach Castle ruins, the Rutschen and Eppenzill cliffs. A hike around the Hohenwittlingen castle ruins or the Seeburg district in the upper Ermstal valley is also much recommended.
"Wanderbares Deutschland"
To ensure a high quality standard of accommodation, look for the “Wanderbares Deutschland” logo. It is the Hiking Association's seal of approval, a widespread and verified certificate for hiker-friendly accommodation in Germany. The establishments meet a good level of criteria in the areas of equipment, service and facilities.
