Get ready to take a stroll along one of the most beautiful and famous castles in Europe.
Counts, princes, kings and even the German emperors have their roots here: Hohenzollern Castle. It looks back on around 1000 years of family history, is still in private ownership of the Prussian and the Swabian branch of the Hohenzollern Family and today is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Germany. Impressive is always the view - the castle stands 350 meters above the valley on the cone-shaped Zollerberg.
Every day, Hohenzollern Castle offers guided tours through the magnificent apartments. Shod in the legendary felt slippers, the visitors glide from room to room, learning interesting and amusing things from the life of the majesties and nobility. Curiosities and precious things can be seen, especially in the treasury, such as the Prussian king's crown with its 142 diamonds.
On the days of the "Royal Castle Stroll" the royal chambers can also be explored at will. In addition to the children's and family tours, there are also a number of special events such as open air cinema, shooting stars nights, falconer's weekend or Christmas market.
Also worth a visit is the Burg-Gastronomy restaurant with freshly prepared regional specialties.
Hohenzollern Castle is located between Stuttgart and Lake Constance, above the town of Hechingen (zip code 72379). The main B27 road (Stuttgart-Tübingen-Balingen-Rottweil) runs directly below the castle (exit Hechingen Süd). Via the A81 Stuttgart-Singen motorway, take the exit "Empfingen" in direction of Balingen / Hechingen.
